2026FGIA-FENBC_TrioOfEvents_sq-small.jpgThe Fenestration and Glazing Industry Alliance (FGIA) FENBC Region will host three events this year: two webinars in July and an in-person summit in October. This three-event series centers on providing building professionals in British Columbia (BC) with direct, actionable strategies to navigate the province's rapidly shifting regulatory and structural engineering landscape. The collective series delivers value by bridging the gap between theoretical code updates and practical, on-the-job application across both residential and commercial sectors. Registration for all three events is now open, with a savings bundle option available to help those in the region make the most of their FGIA membership.

“FENBC Region events provide members with access to presentations on timely topics from experts in their fields,” said Jennifer Sawicky (Bothwell-Accurate), FGIA FENBC Region President. “Not only do the presentations offer excellent information, but the question-and-answer periods give participants the unique opportunity to discuss and to learn from others in the industry.”

July 14 Webinar | Structural Design of Windows as Guards
This FENBC Region Insight Hour called, “Structural Design of Windows that May Act as Guards,” will take place at 12:30-1:30 p.m. Pacific on July 14. This is a must-attend session for the residential market, covering the code requirements, design considerations, compliance pathways and published interpretations in BC for windows that may function as guards. This webinar is complimentary for FGIA FENBC members. Nonmembers can register for a fee of $50 CAD.

July 15 Webinar | Fenestration Challenges in Mass Timber
A second FENBC Region Insight Hour titled, “Fenestration Challenges in Mass Timber Buildings,” will be held at 12:30-1:30 p.m. Pacific on July 15. A valuable session for the commercial market, this webinar will provide a high-level overview of the key challenges and emerging best practices associated with integrating fenestration systems into mass timber buildings. This webinar is also complimentary for FGIA FENBC members. Nonmembers can register for a fee of $50 CAD.

Oct. 8 | FGIA FENBC Region Summit
The in-person FGIA FENBC Region Summit will be held from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Pacific on Oct. 8 at the Northview Golf & Country Club in Surrey, BC. The Summit will kick off with a light lunch followed by valuable sessions for both commercial and residential markets and conclude with a happy hour networking event. Participants should not miss this opportunity to connect with fellow attendees and meet industry leaders. Topics covered will include embodied carbon and BC Energy Step Code/Zero Carbon Step Code and the new Vancouver energy modelling guidelines. FGIA FENBC Region members can register for a fee of $80 CAD prior to Sept. 18 or $95 afterward. Nonmembers can register for a fee of $160 CAD prior to Sept. 18 or $190 afterward.
